British woman says Bastille Day massacre ‘spoiled her SHOPPING trip’
Tourist Lucy Nesbitt-Comaskey told Sky News that the mass killing in France had ruined her day out
A British tourist has been slammed on social media for saying the Bastille Day massacre 'spoiled' her shopping trip.
Lucy Nesbitt-Comaskey was speaking to Sky News about the horrific lorry attack which killed at least 84 people and left dozens injured.
The Brit, who missed the attack because she was visiting the toilet, told the broadcaster that the mass killing had ruined her day out in French city of Nice.
She said: “Maybe this is awful and maybe a bit selfish but it did spoil our shopping trip.
“We bought all this lovely shopping and now I can’t be bothered with it. It doesn’t mean anything now.”
Following the overwhelmingly negative reaction to her comments online, Nesbitt-Comaskey issued an apology on Facebook stating she was still “in shock” when she spoke on live television.
