Today, disturbing footage taken by Ney on social media app Snapchat was played in court.
In the clip filmed by Ney as he fled through a fire escape, the knifeman showed his blood-soaked hands, trousers and shoes before saying: “I actually f***ing did it.”
He added: “Look at my f***ing hands... Bro... I'm not lying... Look at my f***ing pants.”
The knifeman watched the videos in court, showing little emotion, and at times he rested his head on the palm of his hand, reports.
Ney's relatives left the room before the graphic material was played, but the victim's mum Joanne Dunn remained seated in the public gallery, according to .
In documents before the NSW Supreme Court, prosecutors described his reign of terror as “premeditated murder and mayhem”.
Ney was first seen on CCTV entering Michaela's flat at around 1.30pm on August 13, 2019, before leaving the building less than half an hour later.
CCTV footage captured him apparently taking a selfie in the street moments after cutting the victim's throat.
He then ran out of the alleyway to begin his bladed rampage through the city.
The attack was followed by the stabbing of Lin Bo, who survived.

Ney pleaded guilty to Ms Dunn's murder and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm for the attack on Ms Bo in October last year.
Ms Dunn's mum told the Supreme Court that justice would never be done for her “beautiful” and “amazing” daughter.
The grieving mum said: “Who would want to take the life of a gorgeous woman with the world at her feet?
“We have not just lost our daughter. But we have lost our future as it should have been.
“It seems so wrong that her perpetrator will continue on with his life at the end of his sentence.”

Michaela's social media shows she had travelled the world, attending the world-famous Coachella Festival in 2019 and celebrating her New Year’s in Sri Lanka.
She also backpacked around Europe with a tour group in 2017.
After graduating from Rosebank College in 2012, she studied at the University of Notre Dame, posting pictures of her time on campus.
Joan Westenberg, who had known Ms Dunn for 10 years, said she was “like my baby sister”.
“I cannot describe how sad and how broken I am at this moment. I loved this kid. She was incredible,” she tweeted.

She then added: “I just want to scream right now. I am angry that male violence has taken another victim.

The sentence hearing before Justice Peter Johnson will continue on Tuesday morning.
