Nintendo Mini NES classic release date is TOMORROW and it’s a retro gaming dream machine

NINTENDO is preparing to release a miniature replica of its legendary Entertainment System (NES) in Britain, Europe and North America.

Based on the NES that was first released in Europe in 1986, the Classic Mini is a shrunken down version of the original console that can be connected to modern TVs that support high definition video .

It is due to be released on November 11 and the console comes with 30 classic NES games built in, including Super Mario Bros, The Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong and Pac-Man.

The gaming system has already gone on sale in Japan, where scores of excited gamers queued at electronics stores in Tokyo to try to get their hands on Nintendo's gizmo.

Its arrival coincides with the release of Sony's Sony's PS4 Pro, which promises even sharper graphics than earlier versions of the console.

Nintendo's system will come with a classic NES controller, which can also be connected to a Wii remote controller and then used to play Virtual Console NES games on a Wii U or Wii console.

The original NES first launched in Europe in 1986 and was the birthplace of several of gaming's most important franchises, including Super Mario, Metroid, Final Fantasy and The Legend of Zelda.

Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime said: "We wanted to give fans of all ages the opportunity to revisit Nintendo's original system and rediscover why they fell in love with Nintendo in the first place.

"The Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition is ideal for anyone who remembers playing the NES, or who wants to pass on those nostalgic memories to the next generation of gamers."
