Former premier chillaxed with a copy of Britain's favourite newspaper hours after quitting Downing Street

DAVID Cameron enjoyed his first day out of office today - reading a copy of Britain's favourite newspaper.

The former PM, dressed in skinny jeans and a casual jacket, sat alone at a cafe table - apart from a watching police bodyguard.

He was reading The Sun hours after he stepped down as prime minister after six years with an emotional speech outside 10 Downing Street.

He is pictured on the front page with with his family - including grinning youngest daughter Florence - over the headline Go With The Flo.

Other customers seemed stunned as the former premier popped into the cafe Lisboa in Ladbroke Grove, West London, at around 10am.

He was a regular there before he was Prime Minister and used to live nearby.

: "We couldn't believe it when they arrived. They sat outside for an hour with their families.

"Mr Cameron was laughing and seemed quite relaxed. Mr Osborne was definitely subdued. He looked thoughtful."

Another customer said: "It is obvious that Mr Cameron was happy. He shook my hand and said he was getting on with his life and enjoying time with his family. I respect that."

Mr Cameron was later spotted returning to his temporary home before exiting soon after in a smart blue suit and tie.

The family have moved to a friend's £17m mansion in Holland Park as their North Kensington home has been rented out.
