David Cameron enjoys a leisurely read of The Sun outside a Notting Hill cafe on his first day as an ex-PM
Former premier chillaxed with a copy of Britain's favourite newspaper hours after quitting Downing Street
DAVID Cameron enjoyed his first day out of office today - reading a copy of Britain's favourite newspaper.
The former PM, dressed in skinny jeans and a casual jacket, sat alone at a cafe table - apart from a watching police bodyguard.
He was reading The Sun hours after he stepped down as prime minister after six years with an emotional speech outside 10 Downing Street.
He is pictured on the front page with with his family - including grinning youngest daughter Florence - over the headline Go With The Flo.
Other customers seemed stunned as the former premier popped into the cafe Lisboa in Ladbroke Grove, West London, at around 10am.
He was a regular there before he was Prime Minister and used to live nearby.
Mr Cameron chose to sit at an outside table under a canopy but in full view of passers-by.
He ordered a coffee and some cake, before picking up a copy of The Sun.
One cafe-goer, who asked not to be named, said: "I used to see him here quite often before he was Prime Minister.
"I think he missed his visits. He looked quite tired, but relaxed.
"I went over to him and and said: 'Hey big fella. How is it going?' He looked up and smiled at me but didn't say anything.
"One of his bodyguards then came over and asked me to 'give him a break' and I left him alone."
However the ex-PM, who decided to quit after the EU referendum vote last month, didn't completely escape being bothered.
The cafe-goer said: "Poor man, while I was talking to him, people were walking passed and shouting 'Brexit' at him."
Later Mr Cameron was joined by his fallen political ally George Osborne and their children.
Mr Osborne also has more free time on his hands after was sacked as Chancellor last night in Theresa May's first Cabinet reshuffle.
One witness told : "We couldn't believe it when they arrived. They sat outside for an hour with their families.
"Mr Cameron was laughing and seemed quite relaxed. Mr Osborne was definitely subdued. He looked thoughtful."
