DAVID Cameron used his final PMQs to declare his love for the Number 10 cat Larry and to take pop shots at under-fire Labour boss Jeremy Corbyn– and the internet loved it.
As the outgoing PM delivered a bitter-sweet final performance in his last session at the Commons Despatch Box, social media went into a meme frenzy.
Within minutes Twitter had immortalised Mr Cameron’s love confession for the Downing Street moggy and his cutting Monty Python reference aimed at his opposite number.
Some internet users pondered whether Larry the Cat would be the interim PM, while others got creative with Photoshop.
Mr Cameron's comparison of Mr Corbyn's leadership to the black knight in Monty Python's Holy Grail proved a hit while another imagined new Prime Minister Theresa May dumping poor Larry in a wheelie bin as her first act as UK leader.
Others wondered if the Prime Minister will be giving detailed instructions to his successor about the cat's welfare.
