The Royal pair grabbed a mobile phone and video-called a paramedic's dad 5,000 miles away - as they hailed NHS heroes yesterday.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge put the Oprah Winfrey drama behind them as were pictured in front of a mural showing a crown above a heart with the words 'Healing Hurt'.
It was the first time Wills, 38, has been seen since CBS anchor between him and Harry saying they were "unproductive".
Kate, 39, smiled in a camel coat while Wills, 38, held an umbrella to keep the duchess dry from the rain at Newham Ambulance Station in East London.
While chatting to ambulance staff and paramedics about their experiences of working during the pandemic, Jay Khan asked if it was okay to call her dad Abu.

She then FaceTimed him in Bangladesh where he has been staying separated from his family since the lockdown after his mother became sick.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge posed in front of the Healing Hurt mural which was painted in the ambulance station's Wellbeing garden two years ago.
Their visit yesterday came as NHS heroes said they faced during one of the most challenging periods in the London Ambulance Service’s history.
In the Wellbeing Garden, paramedic Shani Smith runs a special tea truck serving ambulance staff and medics over the past year and told the royal couple she used her mental health training to provide peer support to her colleagues.
Shani, who has worked for the service for over 20 years, said this was the worst time she had experienced.
She said: "It’s been like one long major incident." The Wellbeing Tea Trucks were launched last February giving exhausted ambulance drivers a break Newham Ambulance Station attended over 76,500 calls during the Covid-19 pandemic.

London Ambulance Service has received £100,000 of funding from NHS Charities Together, of which the couple are joint Patrons, to enable them to continue to run the Wellness Trucks.
The funding has also been used to create isolation packs and food for staff across London Ambulance Service sites.
