Andy Murray parties until dawn in Mayfair nightspot after second Wimbledon victory

The party went on for so long he was slightly late to this morning's press conference

ANDY Murray celebrated his monumental Wimbledon win into the early hours as he partied until 4am in London's celebrity nightclub.

The 29-year-old left the Annual Wimbledon Champions Dinner with his wife Kim and went on to Drama nightclub in Mayfair, where he danced for hours.

The pair were reported to be on the dance floor with pals, and mingling with famous faces including members of One Direction and rapper Young Thug.

He had said he planned to enjoy his second Wimbledon victory more than his first in 2013, and he kept to his word - arriving slightly late to his press conference this morning after such jubilant and long celebrations last night.

He said: "It was good. I had a great night and spent some time with my friends and family.

"Yeah, it was a good night."

New York DJ Lohrasp Kansara, who played at the club, posted a picture of himself and the Wimbledon Champion on Twitter, with Kim partying in the background.

He said: "Andy Murraay celebrating his Wimbledon grand slam win Drama Nightclub in London is ON FIRE!!! My goodness."

The Brit, who beat Milos Raonic 6-4 7-6 7-6 to claim his second title in three years, let his hair down and took off his bow-tie as the party continued.

After his win in straight sets he sobbed as he was overcome with emotion.

He said: "The last time it was just pure relief and I didn’t really enjoy the moment as much, whereas I’m going to make sure I enjoy this one more."
