Fans crowded into bars, restaurants and the streets in 'Little Portugal' to revel in their nation's big win

PORTUGAL fans flooded the streets of London to celebrate their nation's big win in the Euro final last night.

Supporters in Stockwell, dubbed 'Little Portugal', popped champagne, twerked and hugged police officers as they revelled in the victory.

Parts of London transformed into Lisbon last night as Portuguese fans celebrated their win

Twitter users described the impromptu celebrations as a "manic street party" as they photographed the winners in good spirits.

ST wrote: "Carnival atmosphere celebrating win in Little Portugal, Stockwell."

Parveen Agnihotri added: "More Portuguese celebrating in Stockwell than anywhere else (apart from Portugal). That's why London is the best city in the world."

Ecstatic supporters set off fireworks and danced in the south London streets, with the sound of vuvuzelas ringing through the air.

Other parties took place in Trafalgar Square, Brixton and Central London with fans flying Portugal flags through the air.

Danny Nutt said: "Bonkers atmosphere in #Brixton. Cars beeping and Portuguese fans whooping with joy/going crazy. Football eh?"

Portuguese bars, restaurants, barber shops and bakeries were all jam-packed with fans as people crowded around televisions to watch the nail-biting match.

After star striker Cristiano Ronaldo was subbed off with an injury 24 minutes in fans were left worried for their team's fate against nation hosts France.

But after a goalless first 90 minutes, Swansea flop Eder smashed a dramatic extra-time winner past French keeper Hugo Lloris.

The Stade de France erupted into jubilant celebrations on the Portuguese side with fans crying tears of joy.

Ronaldo was seen in floods of tears as his team brought back the win without him.

French fans looked dejected as starts Griezmann and Pogba failed to score a winning goal against the team's strong defence.

Distraught French fans were left shocked after their team's loss against Portugal.
