Who is Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum?

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum, 71, is the vice president and prime minister of the United Arab Emirates.

He is also the ruler of Dubai.

He was born on July 15, 1949, and ascended to the leadership of Dubai after the death of his brother Sheikh Maktoum in 2006.

Sheikh Mohammed was behind the construction of the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world.

He has had six wives and at least 30 children.

As a child, he studied in Dubai and the United Kingdom, and attended the Mons Officer Cadet School in Aldershot. He has also trained as a pilot in Italy.
