How Pistorius’ former lover came back into his life to support ‘broken’ athlete in court
Oscar Pistorius and Jenna Edkins dated on and off for five years with the blonde bombshell back in his life
CLUTCHING his sleeve as he was led away to prison, Oscar Pistorius' former flame Jenna Edkins has emerged as an unlikely supporter of the shamed 'Blade Runner'.
The 26-year-old was regularly in court to support Pistorius through the proceedings, welcomed back into the fold to sit with the athlete's family as they awaited the fresh verdict.
The young couple had broken up before Pistorius faced the murder charge but Jenna came back to support her former flame
Edkins has remained supportive of the shamed athlete, sitting in the North Gauteng High Court as Pistorius was sentenced to six years jail.
She was also one of the first - and last - to say goodbye to the athlete as he was led away.
The young woman looks eerily similar to Reeva Steenkamp with her long blonde hair and wide smile.
She has long supported him during the three years of hearings and jail time, tweeting her love for him barely two days after Reeva was killed.
She has known the paralympian since childhood with the couple in an on-again-off-again relationship lasting for about five years from 2008.
The young woman was romantically involved with Pistorius since 2008, with him during his glory days of the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympic Games.
The couple broke up in 2013 before the paralympian started dating Reeva Steenkamp, with the 29-year-old now jailed for the young model's murder.

In a series of posts, the young woman wrote: "People must stop jumping on the bandwagon with such hurtful allegations. Os is the loving, amazing inspirational person we know him to be.."
She also wrote: "You have all my familys love and support #loveandsupportoscar" before writing: "All I am saying is let him speak, let his side be heard without jumping to conclusions.. Love and thoughts to Reevas famiy (sic)".
In a final post written on February 15 2013, she wrote: "I would just like to say, I have dated Oscar on off for 5 YEARS, NOT ONCE has he EVER lifted a finger to me, made me fear for my life.."
The affection and loyalty appeared to be mutual with Pistorius calling Jenna "delightful" and "sweet-natured" in his autobiography, Blade Runner.
The couple are now said to be back together.
Pistorius was sentenced to six years prison for murdering Reeva Steenkamp in the early hours of Valentine's Day three years ago but could be out in just three years as he will be eligible for parole after completing half his sentence.
Steenkamp family lawyer Dup De Bruyn suggested there would be no push for an appeal against the lowly sentence saying: "The law has run its course, nothing will bring Reeva back."
