Derek, from Failsworth, Greater Manchester, saw the man urinating at about 10.45pm and approached him.

As Derek asked him to stop what he was doing, the man punched him before pinning the pensioner against the wall.

The man continued to punch Derek’s face and head repeatedly.

Even when the OAP fell to the floor the assault continued until a passer-by pulled the man away from Derek, and he ran away.

Police are looking for this man described as white, of a stocky/muscular build, in his late 40s or early 50s.

He has dark hair with dark eyebrows and was wearing dark clothing.
