Police car seen near Chris Evans’ home day after Met confirmed he would be probed about ‘sexual assault’
A POLICE car has been pictured near Chris Evans' mansion a day after police confirmed they would be questioning him about an alleged sexual assault.
The car was photographed in the area around the former Top Gear host's Berkshire home at roughly 6.10pm this evening.
Before Evans sensationally announced he was quitting Top Gear yesterday, it had emerged officers would be questioning him about an alleged sex attack dating back to the 90s.
Officers confirmed he would be "spoken to in the near future", .
Yesterday sources told the site a police probe will follow a complaint about Evans lodged by someone believed to be a former colleague.
Another anonymous ex-colleague alleged Evans "grabbed" her breasts "relentlessly" over a two-year period, and once exposed his penis to her.
She said: “He might have thought what he was doing was amusing, but like a lot of bullies he cloaked it in a joke.
“Bullies make out that you’re not being fun if you’re not being part of that joke."
A Metropolitan Police statement yesterday confirmed Evans, 50, is being investigated about “incidents in Tower Hamlets during the 90s”.
It read: “An allegation of non-recent sexual assault was made to police on May 23.
“The allegation was made by a woman against a man, and relates to incidents in Tower Hamlets in the 1990s.
“There have been no arrests and no person has been interviewed under caution.”
Chris Evans' has quit Top Gear amid plummeting ratings and the sexual assault probe.
The BBC presenter announced his resignation on Twitter on yesterday afternoon claiming he had given it his “best shot”.
Earlier today he was photographed filling up on fuel at a London petrol station.
He was wearing the same clothes he has had on for the last two days.
The Sun has tried to reach Chris Evans for a comment.
