A TODDLER and four kids are dead and their mom is fighting for life after being shot by a man who is believed to be a dad to some of the children.
Jarron Dejon Pridgeon, 25, has been arrested after the five kids were found shot dead along with another man at the home in Muskogee, Oklahoma, today.
Devastated family members have said Pridgeon is the father of some of the children who were killed.
The mom - Brittany Andersson - was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after being shot.
Tragically, one of the children was airlifted to a Tulsa hospital but sadly died.
Police found Pridgeon with a gun and an officer fired one shot at him, a reported.
The shot missed, allowing Pridgeon to run away, however they were later caught and taken into custody.
The 25-year-old is not being cooperative with the investigation according to police.
Police said the suspect and all victims lived in the home.
A woman is also being treated for life threatening injuries after the attack in the 900 block of Indiana Street.
Police later confirmed all those shot were from the same family.
A GoFundMe page has been set up for the family by Raven Anderson, the sister of Brittany Anderson who was injured in the shooting.
On the fundraising page, she revealed the names of the children who lost their lives.
It read: "Their names were Jalaiya (2), Jaidus(3), Harmony(5), Nevaeh(6), and Quedynce who had just turned 9 on January 12th. My sister is still in critical condition, but we have the upmost faith that she will pull through."
Muskogee police chief Johnny Teehee toldhe believes the shooting was the result of a domestic incident involving members of the same family.
However, no motive for the shooting has been revealed.
Teehee said: "I can’t say how, but we believe the suspect in custody is related to the victims."
Muskogee Public Schools has confirmed two of the children were students at Creek Elementary School.
"We are saddened by this tragic loss and our deepest sympathies go out to all of those impacted," Schools Superintendent Dr. Jarod Mendenhall said in a statement.
"No words can adequately express our sadness in losing these students and our thoughts and prayers are with this family."
Neighbors on Indian Street said the family at the center of the incident had only lived there for about three weeks.
According to police reports, Pridgeon also resided at that address, and has a criminal history including one charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
Pridgeon also previously faced a charge of threatening to perform an act of violence and malicious injury to property under $1,000, stemming from an incident in 2019.
In 2017, he was arrested on suspicion of larceny of an automobile, but that case was later dismissed.
