Shamed footie paedo Adam Johnson will have appeal heard shortly, sister reveals
Sister Faye Johnson says appeal imminent as she shares family photo album
THE sister of shamed football paedo Adam Johnson has revealed his appeal hearing will be heard “very soon”.
Faye Johnson also shared intimate snaps from her family album as she thanked Facebook followers for their support.
The pictures show the caged former England player with daughter Ayla and ex-partner Stacey Flounders, plus other photos of with her and her young son on holiday.
Faye wrote on the Adam Johnson’s Appeal Fight page: “Looking through a family photo album…Makes me think my brother hasn’t gone forever and when he comes home we will be able to make many more family memories just like these! #family #love.
“No news on the appeal yet but I guarantee you it will be very soon! As soon as I know I will let everyone know!
“Thanks again for your continued support.”
Former £60k-a-week Sunderland star Johnson was jailed for six years in March for sex offences with a 15-year-old girl.
Johnson, 28, admitted one charge of sexual activity and one of grooming. He was found guilty by a jury of a second offence of sexual activity and cleared of a third.
His legal team have challenged this conviction and the length of the sentence handed down by the judge at Bradford Crown Court.
Loyal Faye has been vociferous in her support for her brother and even met with pal Katie Price to discuss giving a showbiz boost to his appeal fight.
Faye, from County Durham, visited Katie at her home in the south of England and tweeted a selfie with the star.
She wrote: “Had a great few days with @MissKatiePrice thank you so much for been there for me… Shows you are a true friend.”
She has become pals with Katie in recent months despite Johnson’s ex Stacey appearing to take a dislike to the former glamour model.
Katie was said to be planning on visiting the sex offender in Moorland jail, near Doncaster, as part of a show she was filming on teenagers being obsessed with stars.
But Johnson is reported to have rejected the offer, while furious Stacey wrote: “Sick of these Katie Price stories, what has she got to do with Adam?”
Mum-of-one Faye visited her brother in prison soon after he was jailed and tweeted afterwards: “Great to see my brother today… The hardest part is saying bye.”
