TWO Muslim teenagers were viciously beaten outside a mosque by a thug who allegedly shouted, “you f***ing terrorist”.

Mosque director Mohamed Bahe said the assailant screamed the line at the teens, aged 16 and 17-years old, during the 1.18am attack which took place outside the Muslim Community Center of Brooklyn in Sunset Park, New York, on Sunday.

New York cops told they are investigating the assault - which was partly captured on CCTV.

“We had two volunteers, and they saw a suspicious car parked outside of our entrance,” Bahe said, describing the surveillance video.

He added: “They looked at the car, trying to figure out who was inside.

"They saw a woman and they asked if she needed help.

"Then all of a sudden a guy comes across running from the street and punches him and knocks him down.

"He was stomping him and kicking him."

Bahe said the other teenager, who originally ran away when the attack began, heard the assailant yell “You f***ing terrorist,” as he punched and kicked the first boy.

“The other kid tries to come back and the guy punches him, too,” Bahe said.

The attack happened during nightly Ramadan prayers, and members inside the mosque heard the commotion and ran to help the young boys, causing the assailant to flee.

There is some dispute as to whether the incident is being treated as a hate crime as cops have reportedly described it as “non-biased”.

Teens were attacked near to charity that hands out free food to the homeless

Muslims Giving Back, a non-profit charity based in the Brooklyn area of the city, said “this is absolutely a HATE crime” and posted images on Facebook of the victims left dazed and bloodied in the street.

In a Facebook posting they wrote: "We are urging our community, our activists, our leaders, to help us make sure the NYPD 72nd precinct files this as a hate crime and catch the perpetrator.”

The incident comes amid concern about a spike in hate crime incidents in Britain following the vote to leave the EU.

Anti-racism charity The Monitoring Group said it had received 112 reports since the Brexit vote – compared with four it would get in an average week.
