British female pair set to make history at Rio Olympics… as they were born men
Delia Johnston says two female athletes were born men and the pair would be first ever transgender Olympians
TWO female British athletes could make history at next month’s Olympics — as they were born men.
The unnamed duo will be the first transgender Olympians in history if selected by Team GB, it is claimed.
Delia Johnston, a transgender adviser to sporting bodies, said the pair have already represented Britain at a “European championship sporting event”.
One is being tipped as a potential medal winner after achieving an “awesome personal best” earlier this year.
Their inclusion in Rio is being hailed as a significant move forward by human rights campaigners. But critics argue they have an unfair biological advantage.
Their past is known to sports chiefs, but not rivals. They are so fearful of being exposed “they’d probably drop back” if in medal spots, Johnston told The Mail on Sunday.
