Backpacking Brit left with horrific head injuries in Nepalese ‘rape’ ambush
Candy Garfield, 27, battered after two men smashed a pot over her head but they walk away scot-free
A BRITISH backpacker suffered horrific head injuries after she was attacked by two men who tried to rape her friend.
Candy Garfield, 27, and two pals were walking to their hotel after a night out when local men tried to drag one into bushes.
The women screamed and Candy’s brother Ricky, 32, rushed from the hotel and fought them off.
The men fled but returned and smashed a pot over Candy’s head. She needed eight stitches.

Police arrested the duo but they were freed after paying a court £1,700.
She said: “It seems they bribed the judge. It was all a nightmare.”
Candy, of St Albans, Herts, arrived in Sauraha, Nepal, last month.
She is now trekking around India with Ricky and their two friends.
