Hate preacher Abu Hamza must not be allowed back into UK despite his Covid fears in US jail, ex-anti-terror chief warns
A TOP former anti-terror chief has warned hook-handed hate preacher Abu Hamza must never be allowed back into Britain.
The Sun told earlier this week how the radical cleric, 62, was begging for release from a US supermax jail because he fears he could die from Covid.
It comes just weeks after we revealed how fellow fanatic Adel Abdel-Bary, 60, had jetted back into the UK after being granted early "mercy release" from a US prison on similar grounds.
But Sir Ivor Roberts, the Foreign Office's former head of counter-terrorism, last night said a return for Hamza would be the "last thing" UK cops and spooks would need.
And writing exclusively for The Sun, Sir Ivor said President Biden's new government must "tell him to abandon all hope" of ever going free.
Egyptian-born Hamza wrought havoc in Britain over decades, whipping up his followers with his evil rants.
His vile network spread its evil doctrine through cities and towns, creating a web of hate.

But he was finally booted out in 2012 alongside Abdel-Bary, and is now held at the top security ADX Florence facility in Colorado.
Diabetic Hamza has since whined that his disabilities would be a “death sentence” if he contracted the virus.
In a letter from his cell, he added he could suffer “brain damage, failure of organs and amputation to more limbs”.
