Coates stabbed to death a friend he wrongly believed was in the IRA.

Sutcliffe and Coates, 42, had struck up a close friendship in the hospital, with them regularly chatting for hours.

But Broadmoor has banned the visits as they try to move Sutcliffe back to jail. He now faces a tribunal which could see him switched.

Sutcliffe told a friend: “I am furious about this — they are being biased against me, just like with the tribunal.

“I used to have lovely chats with Dave but they haven’t even told me why he can’t come to visit me any more. It’s so unfair.”

A source said: “Sutcliffe would say he and Dave had three cups of coffee with Coffee-Mate. He said he loved it as it’s a really smooth drink.”
