Mass brawl involving 40 people wielding SWORDS and bottles erupts in street

POLICE were called to a mass brawl involving 40 people wielding swords and bottles.

Cops have arrested two men, both in their 20s, after the huge fight erupted in Ealing yesterday morning.

Horrified witnesses today told how the thugs were carrying knives, bottles and swords.

Sukie Dhanda, 47, said a hero cop gave chase on foot before tackling one of the suspects.

She said: "There was a ton of shouting, you couldn't really hear what was going on, so we looked outside and saw a man being tackled to the floor by police.

"One of the men was arrested outside our front door about 12.30am in the morning. It's absolutely crazy.

"What were 40 people doing out together anyway? I wouldn't be surprised if it was gangs fighting.

"It's massively worrying. You don't want to go out at night."

While Martha Ahmed, 36, said: "I heard a lot of shouting around midnight.

";From what I heard from my husband it was probably a stand-off between groups of young men.

"I didn't hear anything what was being said as I was in bed at the time.

"It's not the first time something like this has happened. It's Southall.

"I don't ever go out. It's not safe."

Police said there were no reported injuries during the carnage at around 12.20am yesterday.

Both men remain in custody where they are being quizzed on suspicion of violent disorder and affray.
