GROOVY!

‘Austin Powers’ house with red sofa and ‘nightmare’ toilet goes on sale for £600,000

A THREE-bedroom family home that looks like the set of an Austin Powers film with its groovy decor has gone on the market for £600,000.

With a bright red sofa and a garish toilet described by one viewer as "a nightmare", the pad has been described as ";in need of modernisation" by estate agents.

The home in Bowes Park, North London is lined with gaudy carpets, a purple bathroom and red kitchen cabinets.

It comes with a guide price of between £600,000 and £625,000, and became a talking point on Twitter.

Author Sarra Manning joked: ";This is a gradual retina burn. Also, what the heck is going on with that toilet, please?"

Another person wrote: “Toilet is a nightmare but I'm weirdly into that kitchen!”

Enjoying the property's bizarre layout, one person said: “Oh my god it's full-on Austin Powers!”

A third added: “The bathroom... I’m fascinated by the picture hanging though.

“Why display your art on an empty wall when you can put it above an archway or a shelving unit?"

"These blue daisy hall tiles look amazing though!"

Another commented: "I'm fascinated by these kind of adds, all houses are always so messy!

"And there was my mum back home (The NL) stressing over a bit of mess before the estate agent came to take photos."

Not everyone was shocked by the bizarre decor, one fan tweeted: "Would move in tomorrow and keep exactly as is."

Another pointed out the financial perks, saying: "Bargain for a 3 bed house in that part of London even if it does need money spending on it!"

On Rightmove, the caption for the property states:  "A charming three bedroom terraced Edwardian home.

"Boasting over 1,060sq ft of internal floor space. Located equidistance to Bounds Green and Bowes Park stations.

"The layout of the house is particularly suited to modern family living.

"Offering bright and spacious accommodation and is well presented throughout however in need of modernisation.";

The living room boasts a range of vibrant colours, including red sofas, carpet and red cushions.

The walls are covered in picture frames and funky mirrors and shelves - making the property look like a time capsule.

In one of the bedrooms, even the soft furnishings look like they've been around since the seventies.
