Trump orders new Antifa crackdown & wants group designated as foreign terrorist organization to stop members entering US
DONALD Trump has ordered a fresh crackdown on Antifa, telling Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to designate the group as a foreign terrorist organization to stop members entering the US.
The decision was announced in a statement from Press Secretary on Tuesday evening.
McEnany detailed how members of the organization have "brutally attacked" Americans, their businesses and the country's "historic landmarks."
"This violence and lawlessness has no place in the and will be called out for the domestic terrorism that it is," she wrote.
She went on to confirm that "signed a memorandum" to "restrict the entry of aliens associated with terrorist organizations and aliens intent on criminal activity."
"President Trump will not allow Antifa, or any terrorist organization, to destroy our great country," the statement concluded.
The statement comes just days after Senator threatened his wife and newborn daughter at their home in .
"Tonight while I was in , Antifa scumbags came to our place in and threatened my wife and newborn daughter, who can’t travel," Hawley tweeted.
He alleged: "They screamed threats, vandalized, and tried to pound open our door. Let me be clear.
"My family & I will not be intimidated by leftwing violence."
ShutDownDC, which organized the demonstrations. responded to Hawley's accusations in a series of tweets – and said the event was merely a vigil.
The group first quoted Hawley's accusation, and said: "It was a candlelight vigil, snowflake."
"We are absolutely and unapologetically anti-fascists," the group tweeted.
"We visited Senator Hawley's house for around 30 minutes. We sang songs, chanted and shared our stories. A small group of people delivered a copy of the constitution to his door (with Article II, Section 1 of the Constitution dog eared for easy reference)," the group added in another tweet.

On Tuesday morning, Hawley continued to fume about the incident – and slammed the "Antifa group who now describe themselves as sweet angels."
"BS. You screamed through bullhorns, shouted down my wife when she asked you to leave, vandalized property, pounded on our door, and terrorized neighbors," he alleged in a tweet.
He added in a separate tweet: "And didn’t have the guts to do it in daylight, but only under cover of darkness so you could hide. You’re scum. And we won’t be intimidated."
