XMAS TRAGEDY

Dad and son, 16, found dead in ‘murder-suicide’ two days before Christmas as tributes paid to ‘trailblazer’ teen

A DAD and his teenage son were found dead in an apparent murder-suicide just two days before Christmas, says a report.

It is believed that “trailblazer” Tony Thomas, 16, was killed by dad Seweryn, 40, who then took his own life at their family home in Bishopsbriggs, Glasgow.

Paramedics were called to the family home in Grainger Road just after 4pm on December 23 - but the pair could not be saved.

Detectives have since launched a murder investigation and are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths, reports.

A police source told the Record: “It would appear that Tony’s father killed him then took his own life.

“It is really heartbreaking and tragic and nobody knows what it was all about.

“The mum, Eve, had just celebrated her birthday the day before and for her to lose her son days before Christmas is especially heartbreaking.”

Tragic Tony was set to study law next year and was an original member of Glasgow Kayak Club Sprint and Marathon Team, who paid tribute online.

'TRAILBLAZER'

They wrote: "Thank you for being a part of the GKC family. You were the first member, the big brother, the trailblazer.

"Whilst we’re no longer fortunate enough to paddle next to you, the memories you have given us will stay with us forever.

"What is sadness today will be pride tomorrow, as we smile and remember our friend, Tony."

Others joined in to pay tribute to the popular youngster.

One said: "What a lovely young lad, sending love to Eve and all affected by this terrible loss. Rest in peace Tony."

Another wrote: "What a positive impact Tony had upon so many lives as he developed from a boy to a young man. Gentle in nature, motivated, smiling and always a great ambassador for Scottish Sprint paddling.

"He will not be forgotten."

Seweryn, originally from Poland, is understood to have lived in Scotland with wife Eve and their son for more than ten years.

It's believed that he had his own joinery business.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "At around 4.10pm on Wednesday December 23,a 16-year-old male youth and 40-year-old man were found dead within a house in Grainger Road, Bishopbriggs.
