Widow of man kicked to death by London Bridge hero questions decision to release him from prison early

THE widow of a man kicked to death by a London Bridge hero has questioned the decision to release him early.

Steve Gallant, 43, was awarded a royal pardon after tackling terrorist Usman Khan with a narwhal tusk in 2019, where three died.

He could be freed 10 months early from his 17-year term for the 2005 murder of fireman Barrie Jackson, 30.

Vicky Foster, mother of Barrie’s two kids, said: “They made him a hero and forgot about his victims.”

Vicky, of Hull, told Radio 4 that Gallant deserves respect if he has turned his life around.

But she added: “Five minutes on London Bridge would not be proof."
