‘It was full-on, crazy and scary and uncomfortable’ Prince Harry’s ex Chelsy Davy speaks out about their seven-year on-off relationship
The 30-year-old also described her childhood in the African bush and her encounters with deadly wild animals
CHELSY Davy has described the spotlight she was thrust under during her on-off relationship with Prince Harry as 'horrible'.
At the time, she was working long hours in leverage law and when she had time off, was usually photographed spilling out of nightclubs in the early hours.
Speaking ahead of the launch of her new jewellery range, she said: "It was so full-on: Crazy and scary and uncomfortable.
She told : "I found it very difficult when it was bad. I couldn't cope. I was young, I was trying to be a normal kid and it was horrible."
The 30-year-old - who dated Harry on-off from 2004 to 2011 - also recalled being held at gunpoint and described run-ins with deadly snakes and elephants during her childhood in Zimbabwe.
The lifestyle growing up on her father's game farm twice the size of Surrey jars with the royal life she embraced as a young adult.
A poisonous boomslang snake once fell on her head, while she faced down a mock charging elephant and lived alongside a pet hyena.
She and a university friend were also held a gunpoint in Cape Town.
The pair had guns held to their heads and forced to lie on the floor of a bar while their assailants patted them down for valuables.
They were told the first person to look up would be shot.
"I was holding my friend's hand, we were both shaking. Very few people in Cape Town escape a run-in with crime."
