Belgian security cops nicked the two men in Verviers and Tournai — both not far from the French border.

A spokesman for the Belgian prosecutor said: “It is too soon to talk about a terror attack. The two men have to be questioned.”

Security sources said the man held in Verviers was planning an attack on fans watching Belgium’s  game against Hungary today. There was no detail on the second man.

It comes just ten days after Belgian security sources warned that a group of Islamic State jihadists was heading to Europe on the refugee trail.

Last week Belgium charged three men with “attempted terrorist murder” after massive anti-terror raids in Brussels linked to a threat to fans during a Euro 2016 match.

Forty people were arrested in the raids, though no weapons or explosives were found. Belgium and France are on high alert after IS attacks.

In March, 32 people were killed at Brussels airport and on its metro system. Several terrorists involved in that attrocity were linked to the 130 deaths in Paris last November.

In January 2015 in Verviers, Belgian police killed two IS jihadis who were later found to be linked to the cells involved in both acts of mass violence.
