Mother who vanished at Brighton bus stop leaving daughter, five, alone has now been found in London
Met police officers are leading the investigation while the young girl remains in the care of social services
A MUM who vanished leaving her five-year-old daughter at a bus stop in Brighton has been found – 50 miles away in London.
The Metropolitan Police are now leading the investigation while the young girl remains in the care of social services.
Sussex Police launched an urgent appeal on Friday to find the missing mother after her five-year-old girl was found at a bus stop alone.
Authorities said they were “extremely concerned” for the mum’s welfare after her child was found sitting on a bench near Brighton Station at 12.52pm on Friday.
The young girl travelled from London by train to Brighton with her mother believed to be in her mid-30s.
After arriving at 12:30pm, CCTV footage shows the pair visiting a toilet in the station before walking into the city along Queens Road.

However, the vulnerable girl was spotted by members of the public minutes later sitting alone at a bus stop near an Ibis hotel nearby the station.
Sussex Police urged anyone with information to come forward amid fears for the mother’s welfare.
Detective Inspector Lee Horner said: "We have looked at CCTV and traced the woman and the girl along Queens Road to the area of the Ibis, where we lose them.
"The girl then ends up back at the bus stop about 100m south of the station. We don't know if she returned by herself or whether she lost mum there."
Mr Horner said: "We are appealing to the woman identified to urgently get in touch or did you see this woman at the station or have you seen her in town?
“We are extremely concerned and anxious to find her and check on her welfare."
Anyone with information is asked to call 999.
