Probe as gran-of-four dies of suspected food poisoning after eating a pub dinner
Tragic Julie Hemmings, 53, from Hull, was left in agony following meal on eve of Turkish holiday
A GRAN-OF-FOUR "who would do anything for anyone" has died of suspected food poisoning after eating a carvery dinner.
Julie Hemmings, 53, enjoyed a meal in a London pub with her husband Mark, 55, and another couple before the pair flew to Turkey the next day to start their two-week holiday.
But shortly after landing, Julie became ill, and began vomiting, which was of “a red colour”.
Doctors told a devastated Mark that poison was "seeping through her body" after Julie's bowel had perforated.
She died two weeks later.
An investigation is now under way the couple fell ill with sickness and diarrhoea after eating their meals.
Describing his wife's condition, Mark, of Hull, East Yorks., said: "While I recovered, Julie got worse and on the plane her stomach cramps were so painful she ended up in tears.
"As soon as we opened the apartment door Julie ran to the toilet - but once she had managed to get to bed her symptoms worsened.

"She had messed the bed so I got her on the floor and put a pillow under her head and covered her with a blanket and I tried to clean up the mess - she was basically unconscious.
"When she was being sick, it was a red colour, I don't know whether it was blood or not, but it was red."
Julie was later put on life support at Bodrum State Hospital after being transferred to Milas Public Hospital as she was blue-lighted to hospital.
Mark said the couple's insurance company arranged for Julie to be transferred to the Acibadem private hospital on May 14.
Doctors then told Mark his wife's bowel had perforated and the poison was seeping into her system.
Julie had gone into septic shock and her organs began to fail.
She would do anything for anybody - she never had a bad word to say about anyone. If she only had £1 left she would give it away to someone who needed it more than her
Devastated Mark pays tribute to his tragic wife Julie
Mark said: "She was so heavily sedated, I'd look at her and her eyes were just like glass. They said she could hear me and understand me, but five minutes later she might not have known I wasn't there."
He was then told on May 29 they had done all they could - and her life "was in God's hands".
Describing the next 24 hours, Mark said: "I went back to the hotel on the next day and then about 6pm the hospital called to say they were sending a car to pick me up.
Adding: "They came to the waiting room at about 7.25pm and said she had passed away."
Julie’s body was brought home to Hull, East Yorks., earlier this month and a funeral was held on Wednesday.
Speaking about the horrific ordeal, Mark said: "I don't want anyone else to go through what Julie went through.
"When you get a bit of diarrhoea you just think it's a dodgy pint or something, and you don't really say anything.
"But the only thing we all had together apart from that meal was a cup of tea, and three of the four of us got sick."
Mark said the loneliness following her death was the most unbearable thing because she was not laying by his side.
Paying tribute to his wife, Mark said: "She would do anything for anybody - she never had a bad word to say about anyone.
"If she only had £1 left she would give it away to someone who needed it more than her."
Adding: "She was really looking forward to going to Turkey. We had been before, but not to this place and we were looking forward to doing something a bit different."
An inquest into Julie’s death will be held at Hull Coroner's Court in due course.
It is believed the source of the food poisoning is now being investigated by the authorities.
