Tattooed Euro 2016 fans show their love of football is more than skin deep

Supporters from across Europe are having an ink-redible time in France

THESE tattooed football fans are clearly having an ink-redible time at Euro 2016 - and prove the love for their country is more than skin deep.

A dazzling collection of colourful body art has been on show at the tournament with supporters from all over the continent stripping off to reveal their designs.

One Leicester City fan in Marseilles had a huge club crest tattooed across his back while another proud Englishman was seen with portraits of the Queen, Winston Churchill and Admiral Nelson ahead of the clash with Slovakia in Saint-Etienne.

Meanwhile a delighted Wales fan even had the Group B table inked on his leg after his team beat England into second place.

Flags, badges and patriotic national icons such as the English lion are worn with pride by fans from across Europe as part of sometimes intricate designs.

However, far-right and military symbols have also been on display in a tournament marred by violence as thugs went on the rampage before and during games.

One muscular Hungary fan whipped off his shirt at his country's game against Iceland to reveal the word "hooligan" in large letters on his belly, although there was no suggestion he was involved in any violence.

Another Hungarian showed off an array of tatts on his chest including the English phrase "all cops are bastards" under the date 1312, the year of a historic battle.

Others show a sense of fun - like the Geordie with a large inking of the Tyne Bridge on his tum who was seen in the stands after England's draw with Russia in Marseilles.

Proud Welshman Mark Jones, 45, was so happy his country finished above rivals England he had the final group standings tattooed on his leg.

The tattoo artist, who also has Cymru inked in his belly, decided to get a permanent record of Gareth Bale and co's triumph after watching them thump Russia 3-0 and leapfrog England into first place in their Euro 2016 group.
