Pair of teenagers go on a 4am ROLLERCOASTER joyride – after breaking in to Blackpool Pleasure Beach
Youngsters scaled fences at resort before spending half an hour on the Blue Flyer ride
A pair of teenagers went for a 4am joyride - on a ROLLERCOASTER.
The youngsters were caught on CCTV scaling fences at Blackpool Pleasure Beach before getting into the control room of the Blue Flyer ride and switching it on.
The teens spent around half an hour riding the 82-year-old coaster - which can reach speeds of 25 mph - before breaking into a cafe in the fairground and throwing food around.
The pair fled after being challenged by a security guard.
A 15-year-old boy was was arrested by police at the Pleasure Beach.
Blackpool Councillor David O'Hara said: "They have could have killed themselves. What were they doing out and about in the middle of the night?
"Where were the parents?"

A spokesman for the Pleasure Beach said the youngsters climbed over barriers and locked gates on Friday before breaking in to the control room of the Blue Flyer, and switching on the ride.
The spokesman said: "They managed to operate the ride some time before they were discovered by security patrols at 4.50am.
"From CCTV footage we understand the intruders were at the ride for up to 30 minutes.
"During this time the two youths can be seen on the ride."
Built in 1934, the ride, previously known as both the Zipper Dipper and the Warburtons Milk Roll-A-Coaster, features an initial drop from a height of 25 feet, two smaller hills, and a tunnel.
The ride was closed over the weekend according to the Pleasure Beach website, but has since reopened.
The spokesman added : "Blackpool Pleasure Beach operates 24 hour security and patrols across the 42-acre site 365 days a year.
"Security will continue to operate with vigilance across the site, assisted by CCTV surveillance monitoring activity on the grounds."
A spokeswoman for Lancashire Police said officers were called to the park at around 4.50am by security guards.
The 15-year-old stopped in the park has been given a community resolution order.
No further arrests have been made.
