THIS is the chilling moment evil Ben Butler cried crocodile tears as he denied murdering his six-year-old daughter in a volcanic rage.
Butler beat Ellie to death at their family home in Sutton, South London in 2013.
She suffered catastrophic head injuries.
But psychopath Butler broke down during his police interview, telling cops: "I couldn't do that".
He pretended his daughter had been injured accidentally as she jumped up and down on her bed to her favourite cartoon Peppa Pig.
Today the stay-at-home dad was found guilty of murdering Ellie - 11 months after winning her back in a custody battle.
A video of Ellie's sobbing mum Jennie Gray - today found guilty of child cruelty - has also been released.
In it Gray tells an officer: "I don't know what's happened here.
"All I can say to you is I don't believe Ben done that."
She adds: "I am telling you my opinion."
When the woman interviewing her tells her she has been "amazing" Jennie replies: "Thank you. I just wanted to be honest with you."
Ben Butler has been sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of 23 years for killing little Ellie while his partner Jennie Gray will spend just 42 months in jail.
Jobless Butler pretended the girl had been injured accidentally as she jumped up and down on her bed to her favourite cartoon Peppa Pig at their family home in Sutton.
Butler called for an ambulance – but he had actually battered the girl to death two hours before.
The 36-year-old and his partner Gray spent the time destroying evidence and preparing their story.
Butler shook his head, protested and swore after the verdict before being removed from the dock as he cried that he was innocent, shouting: “Do it now. I want to be sentenced now so I can fight in the appeal court to prove this is wrong.”
The murder happened less than a year after Ellie had been returned to the couple from care.
