Shocking moment mass fight breaks out between 30 people in Norwich leading to nine arrests

Dozens of police officers required to disperse the crowd and restrain people involved in the fight

A YOUNG boy swings a wooden plank and groups of men and women pace outside houses carrying metal dog leads and throwing punches at each other, before police break up the fight between 30 people.

Men, women and children, who police believe know each other, were all outside homes in a residential street in the Norfolk city as the dispute began.

Eventually police arrived in more than five cars to disperse the crowd and arrest nine people, while onlookers shout.

One person resists up to five police officer's attempts to restrain him, while elsewhere officers take on a person each.

Officers were called at 7.25pm to Motum Road on Sunday.

A 17-year-old girl, a 29-year old woman, and seven men aged 19, 27, 28, 32, 33, 36 and 38, were all arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.

They have since been released on police bail while enquiries continue until Thursday 7 July 2016.

Inspector Nick Paling said: "This was a large disorder involving a group of people who are known to each other; however, officers have increased patrols in the area today to offer reassurance to local residents.”
