Glastonbury Festival site already drenched with rain and mud as revellers are set for a mixed bag of weather
Thunder storms could turn the campsite at this week’s event into a giant mud-slide
MUSIC fans will need to rock out in their wellies this week as Glastonbury is already a washed-out mud bath.
The Somerset site of the annual festival, which is often blighted by bad weather, is submerged in rain water following steady showers over the course of last week.
Video footage uploaded to YouTube by a staff member shows vehicles driving through a muddy field which is saturated with deep dirty water.
The Met Office forecasts the weather will brighten up later this week with a refreshing blast of continental heat although thunder showers could turn the campsite into a giant mud-slide.
Revellers will be able to take-off their water-proofs on Thursday as warm weather is expected for the first full day of the festival.

But experts warn that the sunny and humid weather could trigger heavy thunder storms which could short-circuit the electric atmosphere.
Up to 180,000 people are expected to attend this year’s event which includes headliners Coldplay, Adele and indie-warblers Muse.
Met Office spokesman said: “The rain will clear away to the southeast and the showers in the north should die out leaving tonight mostly dry with clear breaks.
“The rest of the week is looking mixed with most areas seeing some showers but also some good, and bright periods.
“It will be warmer than of later around eastern coasts with southern and south eastern parts becoming increasingly warm and humid by mid-week, and highs of 25C.”
