Mystery punter failed to claim £1million EuroMillions ticket in time for deadline
The unlucky jackpot winner would have also bagged an exclusive 'chalet escape'
A LOTTERY punter has missed out on becoming a millionaire after failing to claim their prize since last Christmas and missing the deadline.
Despite pleas by National Lottery bosses no winner came forward to claim the £1m EuroMillions ticket after its 180-day deadline passed this morning.
The winning ticket was bought in Swansea on December 22, 2015, by a mystery punter.
The unlucky jackpot winner would have also bagged a 'private chalet escape' according to the National Lottery website.
The organisation claims it will hold onto the prize money and use it to help fund its own projects across Britain.
Meanwhile in the UK, there is still hope for another unclaimed Lotto prize.
Back in May, another Welshman unknowingly hit the jackpot in a National Lottery prize draw.
