Sir Cliff Richard accused of attacks by ‘one of Britain’s worst sex offenders’
Beast serving life sentences alleged the singer sexually assaulted him
A PSYCHOPATH serial rapist is one of nine men who claimed to have been abused by Sir Cliff Richard, The Sun can reveal.
The paranoid schizophrenic alleged national treasure Sir Cliff sexually assaulted him at the notorious Elm Guest House in Barnes, West London, where VIPs are said to have abused boys.
Outrage erupted yesterday as Sir Cliff’s 22-month ordeal finally came to an end when the CPS ruled there was insufficient evidence to charge him with any offences.
Sir Cliff vehemently denied the allegations made against him and yesterday said he was “obviously thrilled that the vile accusations and the resulting investigation have been brought to a close.”
But the revelation that police treated seriously the claims against Sir Cliff by one of Britain’s worst sex offenders who was suffering with a severe mental illness can today be revealed by The Sun.
The rapist - given several life sentences - alleged that Cliff abused him in 1982 when he was a teenager and blamed the attack for turning him into a sexual predator.
His was one of four case files sent by police to the CPS for consideration of charges over allegations of abuse spanning 25 years between 1958 and 1983.
As a result of making a claim that he is a victim of sexual assault he is given lifetime automatic anonymity and can never be named.
Yesterday South Yorkshire Police revealed a further five men had come forward and made statements against Sir Cliff also claiming he abused them - making nine complainants in total.
One of the other five whose cases were not passed to prosecutors for a charging decision, was the man who triggered the police inquiry against Sir Cliff in the summer of 2014 by claiming he was indecently assaulted by the singer in 1985 while aged 16 at a Christian rally in Sheffield.
In another extraordinary claim, Sir Cliff is alleged to have molested a young man after roller-skating into a shop in Milton Keynes, Bucks, while making the video for his 1981 hit single Wired For Sound.
But the most astonishing allegation comes from the deranged rapist, who has served decades behind bars for violent crimes, including long spells inside a psychiatric hospital.
He was jailed after carrying out a number of vicious rapes and was given a number of life sentences.
A detective said at the time: “He’s the most dangerous man I’ve met.”
The Sun can reveal he made his allegations is currently in another psychiatric hospital and made his allegations against Sir Cliff from there.
The rapist told The Sun how he was interviewed around 30 times in total by several police forces, including South Yorkshire and Met Police cops investigating claims of abuse at Elm Guest House.
He said he supplied drugs to visitors at the hotel, where politicians have been accused of abusing boys.
He alleged that on one occasion he was taken into a room on arrival and abused by Sir Cliff in front of other visitors.
But he was only able to provide vague details about what allegedly took place, saying: “This is going back a long time”.
The rapist said: “I am a victim of Cliff Richard.
“My case was sent to the CPS.
“I met him at a guest house in Barnes.
“It was a pre-arranged meeting.
“It was arranged for me to drop off some drugs and then I met him there and things got worse and I got abused by him.
“I got there, he abused me and I left, I don’t know what happened after that.
“There is witnesses.
“This happened in a place called Elm Guest House, in a room.
“There was quite a few people.”
Asked how many people may have witnessed the alleged attack, he said: “This is going back a long time, there was quite a few people there.
“It happened in 1982.
“I didn’t see him again after that.
“The police are not taking me as an idiot.
“I’ve had about 30 police visits.
“They’ve not just come from one police force, they’ve come from numerous police forces.”
The rapist claims to have been abused by a number of high profile figures, including Leon Brittan and a very well-known current politician.
He said he handed cops a Midland Bank cheque book containing a list of famous people who allegedly abused him.
He claims it documents payments made to him in return for sexual services or drugs.
It is unclear who is named in the ledger.
The rapist revealed how he was told there would be no further action against Cliff less than an hour before the decision was announced.
He received a letter from the CPS stating there was not a “realistic prospect” of securing a conviction.
A source close to the rapist said : “Police treated him very sensitively.”
