Floral tributes to murdered MP Jo Cox have been laid near the spot where she was shot and stabbed this afternoon.
The 41-year-old Labour politician died before she even reached hospital after she was shot three times - including once in the head - by a gunman.
Constituents have been laying flowers at a Joseph Priestly statue in Birstall, West Yorkshire, near to the scene where the MP for Batley and Spen was shot.
A 52-year-old man, named locally as Tommy Mair, has been arrested.
Cox was stabbed multiple times with a “foot-long knife” while her assailant shouted “put Britain first”.
