COPS are investigating after a human leg was found beneath a train station platform in Essex this morning.
The limb was discovered at Ingatestone station and is believed to be linked to a “historical incident”.
A private ambulance was seen arriving, while a police presence has remained at the scene.
A British Transport spokesman said: “BTP officers are currently investigating following the discovery of what is believed to be human remains under a platform at Ingatestone station at around 9.20am on Thursday, 16 June.
“Enquiries are going to establish the exact nature of the remains, which we believe are linked to a historical incident.”
A Greater Anglia spokeswoman said trains were not delayed by the investigation.
