Majorca cops arrests British man, 20, over brutal assault on UK woman holiday resort last summer
Victim made a complaint to British police after returning from her holidays.
POLICE in Majorca have arrested a British man wanted over a sex attack on a woman in Magaluf last summer.
The 20-year-old didn’t report the incident to detectives in Spain at the time but made a complaint to British police after returning from her holidays.
The suspect was held after Civil Guard officers received an Interpol request for help at the start of the year and launched an investigation to track him down.
Spanish officers confirmed the arrest today.
A Civil Guard spokesman in Majorca said: “We have arrested a British man as the suspected author.
“Detectives launched an investigation in January after receiving a request for help from Interpol to track down a person suspected of a sex attack which happened in July 2015 in Magaluf.

“The victim, a 20-year-old woman, didn’t report the incident at the time but made a complaint when she returned to the UK.
“It would appear the suspect managed to dupe his alleged victim into going back to his holiday apartment with him before carrying out the sex attack.”
Last month a British tourist was indecently assaulted on waste ground in Magaluf by a man who got her drunk and then offered to walk her back to her hotel.
She was said to have met her sex attacker during a night out in brash bar area Punta Ballena.
Local reports at the time said Guardia Civil officers were hunting a north African immigrant.
The man arrested over the sex attack last summer in Magaluf has not been named.
