"Police everywhere."
The car was abandoned on the Thames Path, close to Blackfriars Bridge.
Emergency services and police dogs were used at the scene.
Transport for London and Network Rail said Tube and train services to and from Blackfriars were not affected by the incident.
A Met spokesman told The Sun: "Police are in attendance at Bankside, SE1 to reports of a suspicious vehicle.
"Cordons are in place while police assess the situation.
"Specialised officers are at the scene."
Police were stood down at 10am after the car was deemed not a threat.
