Legal firm trying to block migrant deportation deny they’re ‘lefty lawyers’ despite posing with Jeremy Corbyn
A LEGAL firm that tries to prevent deportation of migrants has denied being “Leftie lawyers”.
But Duncan Lewis Solicitors’ response to Home Secretary Priti Patel’s jibes appears to be undermined by pictures of staff with leading Labour figures.
Those working for the North London-based firm, which has claimed nearly £20million in legal aid for immigration cases in the past three years, revelled in meeting Jeremy Corbyn and John McDonnell.
The firm’s social media feed boasted of “exciting times” at the party’s 2018 get-together.
Duncan Lewis’ immigration director Zofia Duszynska, who specialises in asylum and human rights, was seen with union baron ‘Red’ Len McCluskey at a Labour conference.
Personal injury solicitor Nilma Shah was pictured with Mr McCluskey and then Shadow Chancellor Mr McDonnell.
When staff met Mr Corbyn he was flanked by Diane Abbott and his successor as leader Sir Keir Starmer.

Ms Patel has denounced firms representing migrants as “do-gooders” and last week in her party conference speech she accused them of “lawfare”.
But a Duncan Lewis spokesman said: “We have met MPs from all three main political parties to highlight issues surrounding access to justice.
“We are not politically motivated. There appears to be a policy decision to attack lawyers who work on poor rates of pay to uphold the rule of law to represent the most vulnerable in society.”
