Speaking with Fox, Pompeo said he’s working to release deleted messages from “scandal” when she used a private email server while working as Secretary of State under the Obama Administration.
“We’ve got the emails. We’re getting them out,” Pompeo told Fox host Dana Perino.
“We’re going to get all this information out so the American people can see it.
“You’ll remember there was classified information on a private server, should have never been there,” he continued.
Pompeo added: “Hillary Clinton should never have done that, that was unacceptable behavior.”
When asked if the emails would be released before the election, Pompeo said: “We’re doing it as fast as we can.
“I certain think there’ll be more to see before the election.
The secretary of state’s comments came just days after along with info on an investigation that alleged Russian hackers tried to interfere in the 2016 election and tip it in favor.
“I have fully authorized the total Declassification of any & all documents pertaining to the single greatest political CRIME in American History, the Russia Hoax,” Trump tweeted.
“Likewise, the Hillary Clinton Email Scandal. No redactions!”
Pompeo’s comments to Fox on Friday came after Trump spoke with the outlet the day before, saying Pompeo would be unable to release the messages.
“They’re in the State Department, but Mike Pompeo is unable to get them out, which is very sad, actually,” Trump told Fox’s Mornings with Maria on Thursday.
“I’m — I’m not happy about him for that, that reason. He was unable to get — I don’t know why.
“You’re running the State Department, you get them out. But they’re in the State Department,” the president added.
On Friday, Trump again spoke of Clinton’s “33,000 emails” when speaking on the Rush Limbaugh Show.
“They’re very highly confidential emails, I don’t care what,” Trump told the conservative talk show host.
