IS KATE ONTO A WINNER?

Duchess dances a jig as she cheers on her horse at Royal Ascot

She made an appearance for the first time - and may have bagged a winner

DAY two of Royal Ascot saw the Duchess of Cambridge join the Queen for the races, and she seemed to have backed a winning horse as she was seen cheering and celebrating with a jig.

The first day of racing yesterday was grey-skied and had frequent rain, however the day the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge chose to attend the sun shone and Kate dazzled in a white lace Dolce and Gabbana dress.

The Duchess, 34, seemed to be enjoying herself as she watched the races attentively and chatted with fellow royals and racegoers.

Prince William will present a trophy for a race named in his honour - the Duke of Cambridge Stakes.

The Duchess looks on from the Royal box as her horse comes in and she could be on to a winner. She accompanied her husband the Duke of Cambridge, who will present a trophy later on in the day
