ED BALLS was left red-faced on the EU referendum campaign trail after he ended up stuck in a child’s chair and had to be rescued by his wife.
Yvette Cooper was pictured in hysterics after helping her portly hubby back to his feet as they met kids at a school in Lancashire today.
And despite Labour’s fears they are losing the vote to stay in on June 23, the ex-minister seemed more at home in the playground than convincing his party's voters.
Along with Ms Cooper and MP Alison McGovern, Mr Balls spent the day with kids at children's centres in Blackburn and Burnley.
He was snapped racing toy cars, decorating cakes and painting with the pupils as Jeremy Corbyn gave a speech urging people to Remain in London.
But after a story time session with the infants he struggled to get back to his feet.
Eventually his wife was forced to intervene and help him back up before laughing heartily.
