PUB chain Fuller’s may have to slash up to 500 jobs because too many people are still working from home.

The firm’s boss Simon Emeny insisted that government calls for people to continue working from home will hit his city-centre pubs.

At least ten per cent of almost 5,000 staff members face the axe at Fuller’s 400 pubs and hotels in the UK.

Mr Emeny told the BBC: “We are doing everything possible to minimise that, but sadly it is inevitable.”

He also blasted the 10pm curfew on pubs and restaurants as “illogical” and “ill-conceived”.

The warning follows other similar ones from JD Wetherspoon, Premier Inn, Greggs and Beefeater owner Whitbread.

Pub chain JD Wetherspoon has warned its 1,000 staff who work at airport venues that almost half of them could lose their jobs.
