FEELING GRUFF!

Dog’s life-saving £7,000 nose surgery has left him looking like the Gruffalo

A DOG had his upper jaw and nose removed in a £7,000 op — and now looks like kids’ book character the Gruffalo.

Ten-year-old labrador Ted had the life-saving surgery after a golf ball-sized tumour was discovered on his snout.

Owner Catherine Croughan, 48, said: “He looks a bit like the Gruffalo, because the Gruffalo has the two big teeth at the bottom sticking out.

“The Gruffalo is such a cute little character as well, just like Ted.”

But Catherine, from Bolton, Greater Manchester, said that despite Ted’s looks, his family love him more than ever.

The mum of three said: “My youngest said ‘I love him more than I did before. I didn’t think that was possible Mum’.

“He’s just so special, resilient and loving and he got through it — I’m so proud of him.

“It’s just his nose, little teeth that stick out at the bottom and I think it’s a lot to do with his eyes — he’s got the most amazing, gorgeous eyes.”
