"When I have a conversation with the administration it is in good faith," Pelosi said. "I trust Secretary Mnuchin to represent something that can reach a solution and I believe we can come to an agreement."

She said the new bill would cost $2.4trillion.
The projected cost is less than the $3.4trillion Heroes Act passed by the House of Representatives in May.
“We have a chance to get something done and we want to – what we will be putting forth is a proffer to say: Now, let us negotiate within a time frame and a dollar amount to get the job done to put money in people's pockets, to honor our heroes and to crush the virus,” Pelosi said.
If a deal is agreed upon and the House passes it by October 2, for instance, Americans could potentially get the second stimulus check as early as October 12.
