Drunk mum repeatedly hit a dad over the head with her shoe as they picked up kids from school
Mum inflicted wounds to man's hands and face after a row about a toilet
A BOOZED-UP mum repeatedly hit another parent over the head with her stiletto heel as they picked up their kids from a primary school.
Emma Harrington, 30, started rowing with the dad because he was occupying a toilet she wanted to use.
She told him she could smell cannabis when he left left the cubicle, before they traded verbal blows in the school's reception area.
Harrington called the man a "junkie" and he told her to "go back to working in a lap-dancing club", a court heard.
The mum responded by slapping him across the face.
After a tussle she took off her metal-tipped stiletto shoe, lunged at him, and inflicted wounds across his face and hands.
Teachers at Eaton Park Academy, in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffs, had to usher children away from the area during the scrap.
Harrington then used her shoe to damage a door inside the building - causing £400 of damage.
The mum, of Adderley Green, Stoke-on-Trent, pleaded guilty to assault by beating and criminal damage on Monday.
She was given a community order and ordered to pay £500 in compensation by JPs sitting at North Staffordshire Justice Centre.
Harrington, who turned up to her sentencing in a blue dress and wearing red stiletto shoes, had been drinking before turning up at the school at 3pm.
Prosecutor Giles Rowden told the court: "The incident was recorded on CCTV.
"It appears the victim was in the toilets. She wanted to go in.
"When he comes out. there's some form of verbal argument.
"There are young children present in the reception area and staff members usher them out before the real assault occurs.
"The defendant can be seen to attack the complainant with her stiletto heel.
"He described it as being charged at. She is making various threats towards him.
"The point (of the heel) contacted with his eyebrow causing a cut and also to his
hands, which he was using to defend himself."
But Simon Dykes, defending, said the school attack was "out of character".
He said: "Miss Harrington looks back on this incident with a great deal of regret.
"There is a statement from one of the teachers at the school, who makes it clear that the behaviour demonstrated by my client is certainly out of character.
"She is desperate for help. She has not only been using alcohol but has been misusing (heroin substitute) Subutex.
"She suffers from anxiety and using it would 'take the edge off' and allow her to go about her business.
"That combined with drinking has led to the problem."
Magistrates handed a tearful Harrington a 12-month community order, with a six-month drug rehabilitation requirement and a 20- day rehabilitation activity requirement.
She must also pay a £100 fine, £1100 compensation to the school and £100 to the victim, plus £135 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.
Campaign group Fathers 4 Justice who have slammed the decision not to jail Harrington.
A member of the group posted on their Facebook page: "Mum ATTACKS man with STILETTO at school & still AVOIDS jail - one law for mums, another for dads."
