The 46-year-old was arrested on suspicion of murder on April 30 after the woman's body was found in his home with blood splattered across the walls.

The following day, he was taken in handcuffs to a police crime reconstruction on the strip of bars where he had picked her up.

It is unclear how he was able to leave the country and travel to Ireland.

The Irish police are now searching for Elliott because he is “wanted in Thailand for the murder of a sex worker,” the Irish Independent reported.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland has reportedly asked detectives in Ireland to help find Elliot, currently thought to be County Cavan, a region on the border with Northern Ireland.

He is reportedly suspected of planning to leave the country from Dublin Airport.

Elliott is said to have told police that he picked up the woman from red-light street Soi Buakhao, a road packed with bars, strip clubs, and massage parlours.

The pair then reportedly returned to Elliott's single-story home and took Yaba - a powerful form of methamphetamine - before having sex.

Police say Elliott later beat the woman with a snooker cue until the butt broke and then attacked her with a machete.

Footage later showed Elliott sat in the back of a pick-up truck wearing handcuffs as police stand outside his home.

Police said at the time that Elliott had admitted killing the sex worker.

He reportedly claimed he had acted in self-defence.

He is also thought to have instructed his lawyer to claim diminished responsibility due to the level of drugs in his system at the time of the killing.
