BORIS Johnson has denied that he dies his hair after appearing to admit his famous locks get some artificial help.
The pro-Brexit campaigner set tongues wagging this morning after he seemed to let slip in an interview he was secretly a bottle blond.
But the former London Mayor has since rowed back on the extraordinary revelation, insisting his comment was meant as a joke.
In a profile for , he is said to have run his hand through his hair and said: “This is the real thing. It’s all natural.”
The interviewer asks: “But you do dye it, don’t you Boris?”
To which the top Tory replied ‘yes’.
His shaggy mop has made him one of the UK’s most recognisable politicians, and plays a major part in his bumbling public persona.
But it turns out his iconic locks are indeed all natural, as he quickly clarified the story to say he meant it as a joke.

After the article began being shared around social media this morning Boris’ sister, the journalist Rachel Johnson, tweeted to say he did not dye his hair.
She posted that the: “The Boris hair dye reveal is a massive headline grabbing wind-up.
“All Johnsons are natural blondes!”
The columnist and former editor of The Lady said Tim Shipman, who wrote up the interview, was ‘in big trouble’.
She added: “No hair dye in the world can achieve the unearthly platinum shine of the Boris Johnson barnet.”
Shipman, the Sunday Times political editor, revealed Boris had requested "an urgent point of clarification" about hair dye.
He tweeted : “Boris Johnson has just called to say he thought I was joking about hair dye and that he was joking too about using it!”
He quotes Boris Johnson as saying: “I do remember saying yes in what was a satirical voice.
“I remember thinking 'God I hope he doesn't take that seriously’.”
Mr Johnson’s wife, Marina Wheeler, reportedly also said she would "stake my life on it and that of my children" Boris does not dye his hair.
